new year's eve with el lopo
We’ve been working on a festive tapas tasting menu that will only be available on Sunday, December 31st. We’ll release a preview via our newsletter and Instagram, but you can expect celebratory spins on El Lopo classics as well as some entirely new things, served in four rounds of shareable plates for the table.
An a-la-carta menu will be available as well, although certain items will only be offered as part of the tasting. Reservations at 10:00 or later can expect to ring in the new year with us, and will have front row seats to our annual porrón competition at midnight.
…speaking of which, now’s the time to start practicing your pours! Twelve competitors each get a porrón of red wine, and a white towel to cover their shirts. All participants have to finish their porrón in one go (with a straight arm!) and the person who makes it that far with the cleanest towel is declared the 2024 Porrón Star. The prize? Winner gets their very own commemorative porrón, and can bring it back for a free refill every week in 2024.
